+ “ @fret__ Hello new friends 🙋🏾♀️and to old friends, heyyyyyyyyyyy guuurlll!!!! Below is a little info about my hair journey and what I learned along the way.
My last perm was August 2011. I transitioned for 5 months. 💛
I did the big chop January 2012. I literally felt so free. I had a fade and all 😂😂. Once it started to grow, I was so aggravated with my hair because I did not know what to do with it. That’s when I turned to YouTube and started to watch @naptural85 @theglamtwinz @maelingmurphy and many others. I learned to love my hair all over again. This time I was determine to see overall growth.
Top 3 things I learned about my natural hair throughout this journey:
1. Water moisturizes the hair
2. Deep condition like there’s no tomorrow 😂😂😂😂
3. LOC/LCO Method for sealing moisture (water) is the way and is the truth 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛keep in mind there are setbacks at times and that’s okay!! I had a second big chop (we won’t talk about that 😑). Since then I vowed to myself that I would never let anybody cut my hair again 😂😂😂 ever!!! Since then I’ve manage to grow it back.
I think the main question you all have is how did I grow my hair so long. There’s no secret to it 😂😂 my key points are PROTECTIVE STYLES - this allows me to leave hair alone and not cause breakage. I do styles where I’m still able to care my scalp and massage my scalp with castor oil ; DEEP CONDITIONING - try making your own sometimes 🤷🏾♀️I use honey, eggs, avocado, olive and avocado oil, Aloe Vera etc. It all depends on how my hair is feeling and looking; SEALING MOISTURE - Water is my main source of moisture. I seal the water with oil or Shea butter using the LOC/LCO Method. CASTOR OIL is the way to go for me. I have thick 4C hair. I realize that I need thicker products in consistency. - I’m pretty sure I’m going to turn into castor oil soon 😂😂”
